Matt Jones

Hi I’m Matt. I suffer from chronic fascination overload. From plasma physics to systematic theology to iron distance triathlons, you’ll always find me pushing the limits, solving puzzles, and finding new ways to hurl foam darts at life.

I combine a broad technical background with a relentlessly positive team ethic to grow tech businesses. Right now I’m making the web a better place for students at GoGuardian. Previous projects included AdWords Display Network forecasts with Google and security scanning with Rapid7.

I became a Product Manager at (mt) Media Temple in 2009 when my problem solving focus changed from capacitor failures to business KPIs of the (gs) Grid Service hosting platform. Prior to joining (mt) in 2009 I did some fun, hard, nerdy things as an electrical engineer with Pentair Water, mechanical engineer with Kavlico Corp, and plasma physics researcher at UCLA.

In addition to solving technical puzzles, I have helped lead Team in Training as a triathlon captain, ComfortZoneCamp as a volunteer council member, Conejo Crush Volleyball Club as a head coach, and California Youth Organization Committee as the president of combined church youth groups.

I grew up in Thousand Oaks, California and now live in Hermosa Beach with my two insane puppies.
